Rex Humbard's Dad was a Pentecostal Pacifist to WWI
Rex Humbard, with a national television evangelistic ministry in the 1950s through the 1970s emphasized being an evangelistic church rather than Pentecostal. He was earlier associated with Kathryn Kuhlman in joint meetings. (see "Humbard, Alpha Rex Emmanuel," International Dictionary of Pentecostal and Charismatic Movements, 2003, p.774).
In fact, Rex Humbard's father was a Pentecostal minister, who in 1917 registered for World War I as a religious objector, a Pentecostal Pacifist.
Rex Humbard's father was Alpha Edward Humbard of Pangburn, AR. He was 27 years old and a minister of a Pentecostal Assembly. For an exemption, Humbard gave his reason as "against religion."
